Canadian police services and Crime Stoppers programs have offered rewards for decades. Rewards are typically used as incentives for members of the public to submit tips helping to solve crimes. Historically, such rewards have been awarded to tipsters whose tips have led to the arrest and conviction of a suspect.
The Bolo Program has partnered with Canadian police services and various Crime Stoppers programs to offer major rewards, sometimes up to CAD $100,000, for information on Canada’s most wanted suspects. Not all Bolo Program cases have rewards, but most of them do. And contrary to what’s typically done, our rewards are specifically awarded to tipsters whose tips lead to the arrest of a suspect. The conviction of the suspect in a court of law isn’t what’s at stake here.
